In 2011 SQI College of ICT, then known as SQI ICT Academy, launched a yearly scholarship program to open a wider window of opportunity to every promising individual who is passionate about acquiring an ICT skill, and today we have trained and certified over 10,000+ youths who currently hold important and viable positions in various organizations nationwide.

The scholarship program is open to every individual between the ages of 13 to 28.
This annual scholarship program gives everyone (i.e O-level, A-Level, School Leavers, Undergraduates, Employed Graduates, Unemployed Graduates etc.) an opportunity to take any of our ICT courses at little or no cost.

The scholarship program has over the years taken many unique approaches to identify and evaluate suitable candidates for the award of either full or partial scholarship.

Who is eligible?

The scholarship program is open to every individual between ages 13 to 28.
This annual scholarship program gives everyone (i.e O-level, A-Level, School Leavers, Employed Graduates, Unemployed Graduates e.tc) an opportunity to take any of our computer courses at little or no cost.

  • Persons seeking career paths that do not need university degrees.
  • Persons who have not studied for some time and desire to do so.
  • Persons without time for full-time study but want to enhance their skills.
  • Persons wishing to go into self-employment.
  • University graduates seeking employable skills and adults seeking opportunities to re-skill themselves.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

  • The scholarship test is over 100. The candidate’s score determines the discount that the candidate will enjoy.

  • A candidate must score 86% and above to qualify for a full scholarship.

  • A candidate who scores below 86% will qualify for a discount-based scholarship.

  • Candidates who score below 40% will be compensated with a 20% discount.

  • This year’s scholarship test shall be conducted on-site and online at all our campuses. (Check here for addresses).

FULL SCHOLARSHIP TERMS

a.  Only the first 100 persons to score 86% and above in this year’s test will be considered for the full scholarship (i.e. it is on a first-come, first-serve basis.) and will be divided into 40 for physical classes and 60  for virtual classes

b. Full scholarship can only be applied to one course. (i.e., a candidate will take a course of choice for FREE).

DISCOUNT-BASED SCHOLARSHIP TERMS

a. Any candidate below 86% will be considered for the discount-based scholarship.

b. The scholarship is percentage-based, that is, the percentage score of a participant will be the discount deducted from the total of what he or she is required to pay. Candidates who score below 40 percent (40%) will be compensated with a 20 percent discount.

c. The discount-based scholarship is applicable to all levels of the chosen course.

PAYMENT TERMS

a. All candidates are expected to pay a non-refundable acceptance fee of six thousand Naira (₦6,000) not later than two (2) weeks after the scholarship result is out. Failure to do this shall result in the forfeiture of the scholarship.

 N.B:

i. The acceptance fee is for the acknowledgment of the scholarship offered.

OTHER TERMS AND CONDITIONS

a. All candidates for this year’s scholarship will commence classes on the 5th of August, 2024 for their first cohort, therefore candidates are enjoined to make their payments on time to join the first cohort, else, once the class limit is filled, participants will be drafted for the weekend classes or the next cohort which starts on the 2nd of September, 2024.

b. Candidates who desire to use the scholarship discount to study the course of their choice must have completed their course on or before the 31st of July, 2025 regardless of whether the course was deferred or not. Failure to do so means the scholarship discount will be revoked and candidates will need to complete the payment for their course which the discount had covered earlier. 

c. Should a candidate desire to defer their course to a later period, notification of absence or deferment of training must be done in writing to the office of the Registrar, for proper consideration and approval.

d. The scholarship can be applied to one (1) course only. Should the candidate decide to register for more than one course, the candidate will be required to pay for the other course in full.

e. Successful candidates are to conduct themselves well as ambassadors of the college. Any behavior that violates the values of the college within or outside the campus premises may result in the forfeiture of the scholarship.

f. A prospective candidate can only take the test once during the scholarship period. Any candidate who attempts to take the test more than once will be disqualified from the scholarship program.

g. Any candidate caught involved in malpractice during the scholarship test shall be disqualified.

h. Only those within the age range of 13-28 years old are eligible for the scholarship.

i. Kindly note that the scholarship cannot be combined with any other main discount (IT/Corp member/Laurel). It can only be combined with installments bonuses like one time payment and half payment. 

j. The scholarship program is not open to international students (students not within the African continent).

What’s the ICT Scholarship all about?

The annual scholarship gives everyone (i.e O-level, School Leavers, Employed Graduates, Unemployed Graduates, Corpers etc.) an opportunity to take any of our computer course(s) at little or no cost by just taking the scholarship test. We have a record of over 10,000 students that have successfully been trained and certified just by taking advantage of this scholarship opportunity.

What about the test, is it a must?

Yes, if you are interested in having a discount. This year’s scholarship test will be scheduled for everyone between 13th of July 2024 and 31st July 2024 after they’ve first applied by registering on our website.

Physical Test | Mondays – Thursdays – 1 PM – 4 PM

Fridays and Saturdays – 9AM – 3 PM

Online Test holds only on Saturdays 4 PM – 5 PM

Do I have to pay to partake in the scholarship test?

No, registration and test is FREE!

How many questions and what duration is the test?

The test is a total of 50 questions across different sections, and you have 35 minutes to answer all.

Tell me more about the test questions

The test comprises of three sections: Critical thinking, Inductive Reasoning, and General Knowledge. Prior knowledge of how to use a computer is not a prerequisite.

What do I bring when coming for the test?
Absolutely nothing! Our computers will be available for every registered candidate to take the test for FREE.
How do I get selected?

Once you’ve taken the test, your score will be sent immediately to your registered email. Candidates having an average score of 40% and above will be offered a percentage-based scholarship according to their grades. E.g, For a ₦50,000 course, if your test result is 60%, you automatically get a 60% discount so you pay ₦20,000 only.

When do I get started with my training?

Once you have registered, taken the test, and received your test score, our counseling team will meet with you to tell you when the next course batch training will kick off.
