In 2011 SQI College of ICT, then known as SQI ICT Academy, launched a yearly scholarship program to open a wider window of opportunity to every promising individual who is passionate about acquiring an ICT skill, and today we have trained and certified over 100,000+ youths who currently hold important and viable positions in various organizations globally.
The scholarship program is open to every individual between the ages of 13 to 35.
This annual scholarship program gives everyone (i.e O-level, A-Level, School Leavers, Undergraduates, Employed Graduates, Unemployed Graduates etc.) an opportunity to take any of our ICT courses at little or no cost.
The scholarship program has over the years taken many unique approaches to identify and evaluate suitable candidates for the award of either full or partial scholarship.

HOW IS THE SCHOLARSHIP AWARDED?
Full Scholarship
Score Required: A score above 79% is required for full scholarship offer.
Benefit: This covers 100% of the tuition and is applicable to one course only.
Discount Scholarship
Score Required: Score below 80% but above 39% awards a Discount-Based Scholarship
Benefit: This means that the applicable discount is determined by the percentage scored.
Compensation
Score Required: Score below 40% will get a flat 20% discount for compensation.
Benefit: Your compensation discount can be applied to our courses

Critical Requirements
Acceptance Fee
All successful candidates must pay a non-refundable ₦10,000 acceptance fee. The acceptance fee is for acknowledgement of the scholarship.
Payment for this must be made within 2 weeks after taking the test. If the deadline is missed, the scholarship will be forfeited.
Course Commencement
First Cohort: The first cohort starts 4th of August 2025.
Alternative: If this is missed, then the available timing would be during weekend classes or the next cohort starting 1st of September 2025.
Course Completion
All recipients must complete their course by 31st of July 2026 regardless of deferment.
To request for deferment, a written notification must be submitted to the Registrar’s office for approval.
Eligibility & Rules
Eligibility
- The candidate must be between 13 and 35 years old.
- The scholarship is open to students within Africa only. It is not available for international students (those outside Africa).
- The scholarship applies only to professional programs.
Rules Of Participation
- A candidate can take the test only once during the scholarship period.
- Anyone who attempts it more than once will be disqualified.
- Malpractice during the test will lead to disqualification immediately
Additional Information
Course Limit: Scholarship applies to ONE course only. Additional courses require full payment.
Discount Combinations: Scholarship discount cannot be combine with IT, Corporate or Laurel discounts. However, it can be combined with installment bonuses.

What’s the ICT Scholarship all about?
The annual scholarship gives everyone (i.e O-level, School Leavers, Employed Graduates, Unemployed Graduates, Corpers etc.) an opportunity to take any of our computer course(s) at little or no cost by just taking the scholarship test. We have a record of over 100,000 students that have successfully been trained and certified just by taking advantage of this scholarship opportunity.
Who can apply for the scholarship?
Our Target Groups Include
- School leavers who wish to acquire demonstrable practical skills to secure employment or generate employment.
- Persons seeking career paths that do not need university degrees.
- Persons who have not studied for some time and desire to do so.
- Persons without time for full-time study but want to enhance their skills.
- Persons wishing to go into self-employment.
- University graduates seeking employable skills and adults seeking opportunities to re-skill themselves.
What about the test, is it a must?
Yes, if you are interested in having a discount. This year’s scholarship test will be scheduled for everyone between 12th of July 2025 and 2nd August 2025 after they’ve first applied by registering on our website.
Physical Test | Mondays – Thursdays – 2 PM – 4 PM
Fridays and Saturdays – 10AM – 3 PM WAT
Online Test holds only on Saturdays 4 PM – 6 PM WAT
Do I have to pay to partake in the scholarship test?
Both the registration and test are FREE!
How many questions and what duration is the test?
The test is a total of 50 questions across different sections, and you have 30 minutes to answer all.
Tell me more about the test questions
The test comprises of three sections: Critical thinking, Inductive Reasoning, and General Knowledge. Prior knowledge of how to use a computer is not a prerequisite.
What do I bring when coming for the test?
Absolutely nothing! Our computers will be available for every registered candidate taking the test at any of our physical campuses for FREE.
However, candidates participating virtually should ensure a good internet connection on their phone/laptop and a conducive environment.
When do I get started with my training?
The first cohort begins on the 4th of August, 2025, therefore candidates with discount-based scholarship are enjoined to make their payments on time to join the first cohort, else, once the class limit is filled, participants will be drafted for the weekend classes or the next cohort which starts on the 1st of September, 2025.
Candidates with full scholarship do not need to make any other payment asides the acceptance fee.
How do I get selected?
Once you’ve taken the test, your score will be sent immediately to your registered email.
Candidates having an average score of 40% and above will be offered a percentage-based scholarship according to their grades. E.g, For a ₦50,000 course, if your test result is 60%, you automatically get a 60% discount so you pay ₦20,000 only.
